US-Iran Nuclear Deal will it ever take place or not?
Talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal remained stalled since August over key sticking points
The 2015 Nuclear Deal, which Former POTUS Barack Obama handled personally, got abandoned by Donald Trump and is not even being given priority in the current Biden Administration.
It’s a tactic played by President Biden not to give the deal as high priority as Obama gave it.
In 2015, Iran was hardly 2 or 3 months away from establishing itself as a Nuclear Power. But, it all turned around with this deal that came into effect, which Iran never presumed would be Sanctioned and thrown out of the JCPOA agreement by the coming Republican President Donald J. Trump in 2018. And the P3, EU, and UNSC would find themselves barehanded.
But, the Relations between Tehran and Washington got even more intense when General Qasem Soleimani, who headed the Quds Force, the foreign operations arm of the Iran Revolutionary Guards, was killed in a US drone strike in Iraq’s capital Baghdad in January 2020.
Iran has no plans to give up on its plans to avenge the 2020 US assassination of Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani, despite “regular offers” from Washington to lift sanctions and provide other concessions in return. Iran also wants sanctions relief beyond the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal — an apparent reference to removing Iran’s Revolutionary Guards from a US Terrorism list. Thus, it remains a matter of disagreement.
In return, the U.S. also demands its concerns beyond the pact the way Iran desires.
Recently, a U.S. State Department spokesperson said. We are not negotiating in public, but if Iran wants sanctions lifted beyond the 2015 JCPOA, we will need to address our concerns beyond the JCPOA has turned around the final phase of discussion.
In a recently published open letter, more than 40 international experts and former government officials warned that Iran is now only approximately one or two weeks away from amassing enough bomb-grade Uranium for a Nuclear Weapon.
